Verification steps
- Find the casino’s province-specific profile in our directory. Note the operator, regulator, registration number and official verification link if provided.
- Open the regulator’s official website independently, or follow the verification link in the casino profile.
- Search for the legal operator and confirm that the casino brand and exact website are authorized for your province. A company registration alone may not establish website authorization.
- Check the current status and any restrictions. Registration, operating agreements and authorization to offer games are distinct requirements.
- If information is missing, inconsistent or unclear, contact the relevant authority before depositing money.
Ontario
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) registers regulated gaming operators. iGaming Ontario manages the regulated internet gaming market and maintains information about participating operators and gaming sites. Check both registration and the specific site’s authorization.
Alberta
Consult Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) and its official information about regulated online gambling. Do not assume that an operator authorized in Ontario is automatically authorized in Alberta. Check the specific platform and current provincial arrangements.
Other provinces and territories
Look for the provincial lottery or gaming authority and its officially offered or authorized platforms. Provincial models differ; an overseas licence is not equivalent to provincial authorization in Canada.
Warning signs
Be cautious of a casino that only shows a foreign licence, provides an unverifiable registration number, uses a domain different from the authorized site, or claims a provincial approval that cannot be confirmed.
